Farewell Gathering
A few of Ms Angela Lee's students from her P5 form class last year organised sort of a farewell gathering for her when they learnt of her leaving SPS soon. I got in touch with her on their behalf and got her to agree to the gathering. We met at Causeway Point at 1pm and headed straight for the cinema as the kids (4 gals and 1 boy) had planned to catch a movie first. The show entitled 'Mr and Mrs Smith' was a great action-packed comedy and I haven't seen one that I enjoyed so much for quite a while so those of you who haven't caught it should not miss it. After the show, we settled down at the McDonald outside Civil Centre where we chatted and joked like friends. Actually I don't really know Ms Lee's kids, at least not when we were in school and I only got to know of their existence through MSN (sorry kids). Thus, today was the first time that I actually conversed with them in person rather than through the computer monitor. Found them to be a fun loving lot and was glad to have got to know them. Went back to shop at Causeway Point but the kids had to leave early for home so I continued to shop with Angela. Strolled round the place for about an hour and she finally got the shoes she wanted to match her campus wear. Though the farewell gathering ended quite abruptly, it was the thought that counts and I believe there will be more of such get together as the date for her departure nears. Maybe I should have a farewell gathering too before I close my cafe at the end of the month. Or perhaps I should just pull my shutter down quietly so as not to be reminded of my failure?
